WESTLAKE, Ohio - Cleveland State won the doubles point and went on to win five of the six singles matches en route to a 6-1 victory over UIC on Sunday afternoon at the Paramount Tennis Club.

The win, which was CSU's 29th straight over a Horizon League opponent, improves the Vikings to 10-7 overall and keeps the Vikings perfect in the league at 4-0.

"We came out focused today and I felt that we were in control the whole match," head coach Brian Etzkin said. "We had three great wins in doubles and I thought getting that point helped us carry over some momentum to singles play.

"Rob Fox was able to get us a quick point in singles to give us a 2-0 lead and Goose and Haley built on that to get us the clinching points. I really like the way this team has been growing and improving as the season progresses and am excited with the level of tennis we are playing."

Fox earned a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles, while Goossens won 6-4, 6-4 at No. 1 singles and Haley picked up a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 5 singles.

CSU is back in action on Saturday (April 9) when the Vikings play at Wright State at 10:00 a.m.
