The Cleveland State men's tennis team split a pair of matches Saturday, beating Chicago State 4-2 and dropping a 5-2 decision to Horizon League rival UIC.

The Vikings (7-15, 1-2 HL) opened up against the Cougars, with Paul Haley (San Antonio, Texas/Judson) and Eric Winn (Austin, Texas/Westlake) winning the first two singles matches and Jordan Reynolds (North Olmsted, Ohio/North Olmsted) and Adam Mercurio (Lorain, Ohio/Lorain Catholic) taking the final two in giving CSU a 4-2 advantage. The doubles matches were scratched due to time limitations after the outcome was determined.

Against the Flames, the Vikings won the doubles point by winning the No. 1 and 2 matches, but could only manage a singles victory by Jay Tee (Davenport, Iowa/Davenport Central) in falling to UIC.

The Vikings are in action again on March 12 when they look to improve their conference record against Butler at the Malaga Tennis Center at 11:00 a.m.
