TONAWANDA, N.Y. - The Cleveland State men's tennis team picked up its fourth straight win of the season late Friday night, defeating Niagara, 5-2. The Vikings took all three doubles matches and four of the six singles matches in extending their longest winning streak since 1989. The men improve to 5-7 on the year, while Niagara drops to 2-5.

"This was a great win for us, the guys are really starting to believe in each other," head coach Brian Etzkin said. "We lost to this team 6-1 last year, and to come back and win 5-2 this year, that really puts us in a good place right now."

Cleveland State got off to a good start by winning all three doubles matches. Jay Tee and Eric Winn battled Jonathan Bozanich and Erick Garcia, 9-8(3), at No. 1 doubles, while Brett Aronson and Dan Singer knocked off Kris Hrisovulos and Jason Ramos, 8-2, at No. 2. Jordan Reynolds and Paul Haley capped the doubles round at No. 3, defeating Andrew Mayer and John Abella, 8-5.

After Niagara took the first two singles matches, Aronson evened the score, defeating Mayer, 6-3, 6-2, at No. 3 to even the score. Haley picked up a quick win over Abella, winning 6-0, 6-0, at No. 5 singles, before Singer clinched the match with his 6-2, 6-4 win over Ramos at No. 4 singles. Reynolds capped off the day with a 7-5, 6-3 win over Hrisovulos at No. 6 singles.

The Vikings will try to move the winning streak to five matches on Sunday when they welcome Toledo to the River Oaks Racquet Club in Rocky River, Ohio. Sunday's match begins at 10 a.m.
