Mareschal-Hay was selected for the Milwaukee Tennis Classic field based on results from last season and Universal Tennis Rankings, and will compete as part of the 32-player singles draw, while he will also team up with David Norfeldt from San Diego for the 16-team doubles draw.

This marks just the second time that Cleveland State has been represented at the MTC, as Mareschal-Hay joins former Vikings Matthew Terry and Luke Phillips as the only three Vikings to participate in the tournament.

Last season, Mareschal-Hay was named the Horizon League Freshman of the Year after helping Cleveland State capture its third straight #HLTennis Championship. Playing primarily at No. 3 singles, Mareschal-Hay finished the 2021 season with a team-best 17-5 record, including an 8-1 mark against league opponents.

In doubles play, Mareschal-Hay finished the year with a 12-5 record, including a team-best 7-1 mark against league opponents at the No. 2 spot playing with Matthew Terry.

Mareschal-Hay joins four returning letterwinners and three newcomers for the 2021-22 campaign, while the group will be led by head coach Brian Etzkin who is entering his 20th season with the Vikings.
