Vikings Sweep Oberlin & Niagara In First Homestand

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State men's tennis team swept its home opening doubleheader Saturday, picking up back-to-back 4-0 victories over Oberlin and Niagara. The Vikings now stand at 4-2 on the young season.

After playing both matches to clinch, Mirko Radosevic was the lone Viking to go 2-0 in singles play on the day, picking up his second and third singles victories of the spring.

Cleveland State 4, Oberlin 0
During the opening match Cleveland State picked up a quick 4-0 victory, claiming the doubles point and singles points at the No. 4, No. 5, and No. 6 spots.

The doubles point came from wins at No. 1 doubles in a 6-3 decision from Colton Buffington and Kevin Goth and at the No.2  spot with a 6-2 victory from Nico Mostardi and Andre Mick.

Mirko Radosevic picked up Cleveland State's first singles win, earning a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 4 singles, followed by wins at No. 5 singles from Jack Santilli (6-2, 6-2) and No. 6 singles from Kevin Goth (6-2, 6-2).

Cleveland State 4, Niagara 0
The Vikings finished the day just as they started, picking up another 4-0 victory over Niagara. Cleveland State was once again able to pick up the early doubles point, sweeping all three doubles courts.

Radosevic then put the Vikings up 2-0 after a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 5 singles, while Mostardi moved back into the singles lineup and captured a 6-1, 6-0 win at the top of the lineup. Cleveland State's final point came from William Malm who earned the clinching point with a 6-3, 6-0 decision at No. 3 singles.
