Entering the weekend, the Vikings stand at 9-6 overall this spring and 2-0 in league contests after picking up a 5-2 victory against Wright State last time out. This is the sixth time under head coach Brian Etzkin that CSU has started league play with a 2-0 record, and a win on Saturday would keep the Vikings on track for their fourth undefeated league season under Etzkin.

Matt Kuelker was a large part of CSU's victory over Wright State last weekend, as he picked up a win at the top of the singles lineup and helped clinch the doubles point with a win at the No. 2 spot with Nolan Marks. Following his 2-0 weekend, Kuelker was named the Horizon League Player of the Week, earning the award for the second time this season. Kuelker's singles win not only solidified the victory for the Vikings, but it also gave him 20 singles wins on the year – his second 20-win season of his career.

Along with Kuelker, Cleveland State also got singles wins from Manuel Bellutti (No. 4), Joe VanMeter (No. 5), and Nolan Marks (No. 6), sweeping the bottom half of the singles lineup for the fifth time this season.

Entering Saturday's contest three Vikings have singles win streaks, including Kuelker who has won 10 straight matches. VanMeter has won eight consecutive singles matches over the past five weeks, while Bellutti has won two straight and eight of his last nine matches.
