CLEVELAND - The Cleveland State men's swimming and diving team moved to 2-0 on the season by defeating UW-Green Bay, 131-111, on Saturday afternoon at Busbey Natatorium. The Vikings won nine of the 13 events on the day in crusing to their second-straight win.

"This was a total team effort today," head coach Wally Morton said. "Our depth came through for us, and we had some very good individual performances."

Warren Vickers and Chris Jones were double winners on the day, with Vickers winning the 100 free in 46.43 and the 200 free in 1:43.56. Jones was a winner on both diving boards, scoring 255.60 on 1m and 275.63 on 3m.

Pieter Pelser, Niall McGrane and Daniel Thomasson also picked up a win to help the Vikings to victory. Pelser won the 200 backstroke in 1:49.41, while McGrane was first in the 1000 freestyle in 9:58.35, out-touching Thomasson by one-tenth of a second. Thomasson picked up his own win in the 500 freestyle, finishing in 4:44.92.

"You could make a case that Thomasson won the meet for us today," Morton said. "He got a big win for us in the 500 freestyle towards the end of the meet, and he came from very far back to secure the win in the 400 freestyle relay."

The men will next head to St. Bonaventure on Saturday, Nov. 8, for a dual meet with the Bonnies.
