Columbus, Ohio – The Cleveland State University men's and women's swimming and diving teams traveled to Big Ten foe Ohio State Friday afternoon and dropped dual meets to the Buckeyes inside the Bill and Mae McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion.

The CSU men fell, 184-111, and the women's team lost, 184-103.

Sophomore Tommi Wolst won all three individual events he competed in against the Big Ten foe. Wolst won the 100 breaststroke in his first individual swim Friday in 56.47 seconds. He then swam the 200 backstroke for the first time this season and promptly won the event by over two seconds, stopping the clock in 1:49.37. Wolst finished his day by winning the 200 IM by over one second. He finished first in 1:52.27, his fastest time on the season in the event.

Senior Philipp Sikatzki posted first-place finishes in both individual swims of the afternoon, surpassing the NCAA 'B' standard in both events. He won the 100 back in 47.90 seconds and also claimed the 100 butterfly in 47.66 seconds, his fastest time in the event on the season.

Freshman DJ Arslanian took third in the 200 butterfly in 1:54.32. He also took fifth in the 100 freestyle in 47.60 seconds.

Freshman Tyler Stevenson was the Vikings' top finisher in the 200 freestyle in 1:45.57. Sophomore MacJilton Lewis was Cleveland State's top finisher in the 1000 freestyle as he claimed fifth in 9:57.92, his fastest time of the season. Lewis also was CSU's top finisher in the 500 free in 4:49.99, an improvement on his time from last month.

Sophomore Molly McNamara and freshman Gabriella Marinelli won events to lead the way for the Viking women.

McNamara claimed the 200 butterfly in 2:02.56 and was the runner-up in the 100 butterfly in 56.20 seconds, her fastest time of the season. She also swam the third leg of the Vikings' top 200 medley relay team Friday, a quartet that finished in 1:46.62.

Marinelli won the 100 freestyle in 53.87 seconds. She was also the top CSU finisher in the 200 free, as she took fourth in that event in 1:54.78, the best time by a Viking this season.

With Marinelli leading the way, the Vikings actually finished 1-2 in the 100 free and took three of the top five spots. Senior Anna Evans was the runner-up to Marinelli, finishing in a time of 54.23 seconds, while junior Jamie VanDewerker took fifth in 54.47 seconds.

VanDewerker and Evans were CSU's top two finishers in the 50 freestyle as the former took third (24.56) while the latter took fifth (24.74).

Junior Tobie Zeller was the runner-up in both breaststroke events, resetting her season best in both disciplines. She finished the 100 in 1:05.19 and touched the wall in the 200 in 2:24.87.

Sophomore Michaela Bargardi took second in the 200 backstroke in a time of 2:07.56, the fastest time by a Viking in that event this season.

Cleveland State will return to action next weekend as it hosts its three-day Magnus Cup meet, which will begin Friday, Nov. 18.
