Vikings Travel To Buffalo For Final Dual Meet Of The 2015-16 Season

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State men's and women's swimming and diving teams will compete in their final dual meet of the 2015-16 season this weekend, traveling to Buffalo for a 1:00 p.m. meet on Saturday, February 6.

Weekly Horizon League Honors
Earlier this week freshmen Tommi Wolst and Molly McNamara were honored by the Horizon League, as they were named Male and Female Swimmer of the Week, respectively. Wolst picked up the accolade after winning all three of his individual races against Oakland, while McNamara also went 3-for-3 at Oakland to earn the honor.

Wolst is the fourth Viking on the men's side to earn weekly honors from the Horizon League (Philipp Sikatzki, Danny Roberts & Szymon Golczyk), while McNamara is the first Viking on the women's side to pick up weekly honors.

Cleveland State 2015-16 Top Times 

Recapping The Men
Entering the final dual meet of the season, the Vikings own a 6-3 record, and have won three out of their last four dual meets. Last time out, Cleveland State fell at Oakland (182.5-117.5), putting its Horizon League dual meet record at 2-1 for the year.

Tommi Wolst, Szymon Golczyk, and Philipp Sikatzki recorded Cleveland State's six first place finishes in individual events against Oakland, while the 200 medley relay team also recorded a first place finish.

Wolst posted his first place finishes in the 100 breaststroke, 200 backstroke, and 200 individual medley, while Golczyk picked up wins in the 200 butterfly and 100 butterfly, and Sikatzki earned his win in the 100 backstroke. 

Recapping The Women
Cleveland State currently stands at 3-9 in dual meet action this season, picking up wins in dual meets against Gannon, St. Bonaventure, and Canisius. 

Last time out, the Vikings picked up five first place finishes against Oakland, with all five coming from Molly McNamara and Tori Taffner. McNamara earned her wins in the 200 butterfly, 100 butterfly, and 200 individual medley, while Taffner picked up her victories in the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events.
