Wolst & McNamara Pick Up Horizon League Swimmer Of The Week Honors

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Cleveland State men's and women's swimming and diving teams swept the Horizon League Swimmer of the Week honors this week, as Molly McNamara earned the accolade on the women's side and Tommi Wolst picked up the award on the men's side. This is the first weekly honor for both McNamara and Wolst this season.

McNamara, a freshman from Cranebrook, Australia, is the first Viking on the women's team to earn weekly honors from the league this year.

Last time out, McNamara captured first place finishes in all three individual races that she competed in against Oakland. She was able to bring home victories in the 200 Butterfly (2:05.66), 100 Butterfly (56.64), and the 200 Individual Medley (2:09.08). For the season, McNamara holds the team's top times in all three of these races, recording all three at the Cleveland State Magnus Cup.

Wolst, a freshman from Leipzig, Germany, is the third Viking on the men's team to earn weekly honors from the league this year, joining Philipp Sikatzki and Szymon Golczyk

Against Oakland last weekend, Wolst picked up three victories in his three individual races, while he was also on the winning 200 Medley Relay team. Individually, Wolst won the 100 Breaststroke (56.10), 200 Backstroke (1:50.72), and the 200 Individual Medley (1:50.82). Wolst has recorded the team's top times in all three of these events this season, posting all of them at the Cleveland State Magnus Cup.

Next up for the Vikings will be their final dual meet of the 2015-16 season, as they are set to travel to Buffalo for a 1:00 p.m. meet this Saturday (Feb. 6).
