Swimming & Diving Returns To Action At Oakland

CLEVELAND, Ohio – After being idle for the last two weeks, the Cleveland State men's and women's swimming and diving teams will return to action this weekend, traveling to Horizon League foe Oakland for a 1:00 p.m. dual meet on Saturday, January 30.

Recapping The Men
The Cleveland State's men's team enters the week with a 6-2 record in dual meet action this season. Entering Saturday's meet, the Vikings have picked up three dual meet victories in a row, including a pair of Horizon League wins over UIC and Wright State last time out.

So far this season, the Vikings have picked up 19 individual victories against Horizon League opponents and 3 relay victories. Cleveland State has also notched 13 individual second place finishes.

Eight of the 19 individual wins against Horizon League teams have come from Philipp Sikatzki (Junior – Leipzig, Germany) and Danny Roberts (Senior – Fairview, Pa.), as they were honored as the Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively, on Tuesday, January 19. This duo has now earned Horizon League weekly honors three times this season, while Sikatzki was also named the CollegeSwimming.com Division I National Swimmer of the Week on Thursday, January 21.

Recapping The Women
The Cleveland State women's team enters the week with a 3-8 record in dual meet action this season, while Oakland will be the fourth Horizon League opponent for the Vikings.

Against Horizon League opponents, the Vikings have picked up 11 individual victories and one relay victory this season, while they have also notched 17 second place finishes. Cleveland State's first place finishes have come from Claudia Zido, Molly McNamara, Tori Taffner, Sammie Sposet, and Cassie Oltman.
