Sikatzki Earns National Swimmer of the Week Honor

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland State junior men's swimmer Philipp Sikatzki was named the CollegeSwimming.com Division I National Swimmer of the Week after his performance in two CSU wins last weekend.

Sikatzki, a junior from Leipzig, Germany, won all five of his individual events on the weekend, while he was also a part of three winning relay teams, helping the Vikings earn a 172-128 victory over UIC followed by a 176-124 victory over Wright State.

Against UIC, Sikatzki won the 200 Free (1:42.00), 100 Free (46.18) and 100 Fly (48.89), while he also swam the first leg on the winning 400 Medley Relay team (3:19.94).

On Saturday, Sikatzki picked up wins in the 100 (45.67) and 200 Free (1:41.37) against Wright State, while also swimming the first leg on the winning 200 Medley Relay (1:30.37) and 200 Free Relay (1:24.10) teams.

The Vikings will be out of action until Saturday, January 30 when they travel to Oakland for another Horizon League dual meet.
