Sikatzki & Roberts Sweep Horizon League Weekly Honors

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – After leading the Cleveland State men's swimming and diving team to a pair of Horizon League dual meet victories last weekend, Philipp Sikatzki and Danny Roberts have been named the Horizon League Swimmer and Divers of the Week. This is the third weekly honor for both Sikatzki and Roberts this season.

Last weekend, the Vikings picked up a 172-128 victory over UIC followed by a 176-124 victory over Wright State.

Sikatzki, a junior from Leipzig, Germany, won all five of his individual events on the weekend, while he was also a part of three winning relay teams.

Against UIC, Sikatzki won the 200 Free (1:42.00), 100 Free (46.18) and 100 Fly (48.89), while he also swam the first leg on the winning 400 Medley Relay team (3:19.94). The next day, Sikatzki picked up wins in the 100 (45.67) and 200 Free (1:41.37) against Wright State, while also swimming the first leg on the winning 200 Medley Relay (1:30.37) and 200 Free Relay (1:24.10) teams.

Roberts, a senior from Fairview, Pennsylvania, won three of the four diving events on the weekend, along with picking up a second place finish in the fourth event.

He swept the 1M and 3M boards against Wright State, posting a score of 323.93 in the 1M event and a score of 303.30 in the 3M event. Against UIC, Roberts notched a score of 324.83 to win the 1M event, while he placed second on the 3M board with a score of 286.35.

The Vikings will be idle over the next two weeks, returning to the pool on Saturday, January 30 when they travel to Oakland for another Horizon League dual meet.
