Vikings Swim Well in 140.5-78.5 Setback at Ohio State

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Cleveland State men's swimming and diving team had several strong performances in a 140.5-78.5 setback at Ohio State on Thursday night.

In the 50-yard backstroke, freshman Tommi Wolst posted a second place finish with a time of 23.05, just .20 seconds behind the winner. Wolst would go on to win the 100 IM with a time of 50.69, earning nine points for the Vikings.

Philipp Sikatzki also had a strong meet for CSU with one win and two runner-up finishes. Sikatzki captured the 50-yard butterfly with a time of 22.03 and took second place in the 100 butterfly (48.06) and the 100 backstroke (48.81).

Szymon Golczyk was right behind Sikatzki in the 100 butterfly, finishing third in a time of 48.34. He also placed second in the 100 IM (52.09).

The Vikings are back in action from Nov. 20-22 when CSU hosts the Magnus Invitational in Busbey Natatorium.
