Vikings Dominate St. Bonaventure 184-116

CLEVELAND, Ohio-  The Cleveland State men's swimming and diving team put together a dominate swim meet performance in the pool against St. Bonaventure, 184-116 victory.

The Vikings (2-4) had four swimmers earn a pair of indivdual wins in their swim events.  Sophomore diver Danny Roberts won both the 1-meter (304.13) and 3-meter (323.25), junior Kyle Riordan won the 500 freestyle (4:45.61) and the 1,000 freestyle (9:48.17), junior Nathan Grant was atop in the 100 breastroke (58.45) and the 200 breastroke (2:06.87), and rounding it out senior Alex Lewis came on top in the 50 freestyle (20.60) and in the 100 butterfly (50.35).

Other first place winners that led the Green and White was senior Al Shillito who won the 100 backstroke, touching the wall at 51.88 and senior Justin Kermack who won the 200 butterfly (1:52.22).  CSU also won the 400 Medley Relay (Shillito, Grant, Kermack, Lewis) with a team time of 3:24.43.  With those first place finishes, Cleveland State won 10 swimming events on the day.

The Vikings also had a slew of second place contributors against the Bonnies.  Stephen Schillero scored runner-up in both the 3-meter (289.80) and 1-meter (270.68), Jon Querciagrossa in the 1,000 free (9:49.34) and 500 free (4:47.78), Declan McLaughlin in the 100 breastroke (58.83), Adam Ingledew in the 100 free (47.82), Gage Alleman took second in the 200 IM (1:58.29), Kermack added a second place finish in the 100 butterfly (50.94), Ryan Blankenship in the 200 backstroke (1:55.74), and the 400 Freestyle Relay (Burton, Kheirandish, Nordike, and Gonzalez) had a time of 3:18.62.

The Vikings will be back in the pool tomorrow (Nov. 9) as the team will travel to Niagara University.  The events are slated to begin at 1:00 p.m.
