CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland State men's soccer player Admir Suljevic has been named to the Capital One District 5 All-Academic first team announced by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) on Friday afternoon.

Student-athletes were nominated by CoSIDA members and voting for Academic All-District teams was done by current CoSIDA members. By virtue of earning First Team All-District status, Suljevic moves onto the national Academic All-America ballot.

Suljevic, a redshirt sophomore, was one of three forwards named to the team that is made up of six players from Ohio, three from Indiana and two from Illinois.

The academic junior from Derventa, Bosnia and Wickliffe High School (Ohio) boasts a 3.35 GPA while majoring in physical education.

Due to injury, Suljevic has appeared in just 12 games, starting nine. He's scored six goals, tying him for sixth in the Horizon League. His 0.50 goals per game is fourth best in the league. He's also added three assists, all of which came in the Vikings 4-0 win over Loyola on Oct. 8. With 15 points, Suljevic is tied for sixth in the Horizon League in that category despite missing considerable time.

Suljevic and the Vikings close out the regular season Friday (Nov. 4) when they host Detroit at 7:00 p.m. Cleveland State (8-8-1, 4-2-1 HL) has already clinched a spot in the Horizon League Championships that are set to begin on Tuesday (Nov. 8).
