CINCINNATI, OHIO - Cleveland State played well for most of the first 72 minutes of the contest, but the Cincinnati Bearcats eventually wore the team down and handed the visiting Vikings a 3-0 loss Friday night.

The loss closes out the exhibition season for both programs.

The only score of the first half came when Cincinnati's Mark Konitsch intercepted a pass in stride and scored a one-on-one goal against goalkeeper Brad Stuver.

The Vikings defense held until the 72:54 mark, when the Bearcats' Matt Bahner scored an unassisted goal after picking up a loose ball at midfield. Three minutes later a Cincinnati corner kick deflected off a Viking defender for the final goal of the evening.

Justin Mancine was active all night for the Vikings, recording six shot attempts, including five on goal. Stuver notched five saves on the night.

Cleveland State will open the 2010 season on the road at St. Bonaventure on Wednesday, Sept. 1. The Vikings home opener will be the following Sunday (Sept. 5), when Cleveland State will take on Niagara in a 3:00 p.m. contest.

The Niagara game will also be the first ever home men's soccer game to be streamed live. Audio and video footage of the game will be viewable at www.csuvikings.com.
