Mentor, Ohio - Joshua Okoampa scored in the 115th minute to give UW-Green Bay a 1-0 victory over host Cleveland State in Horizon League action Saturday afternoon. The Vikings outshot the Phoenix, 10-8, on Alumni Day for the men's soccer program at Mentor High School.

"We are very disappointed with the result today," Coach Pete Curtis said after the match. "Today was a good example that unless you execute, you're going to lose games. There are no free rides in Division 1 or Horizon League soccer."

Okoampa scored the goal after receiving the ball in the midfield, turning and nutmegging a Cleveland State defender, dribbling over 40 yards into the box and placing the ball with the outside of his right foot to the right side netting past a diving Amir Kettani.

The Vikings took 10 shots, but managed to put just two on goal.

"I was disappointed in our ability to hit the target with shots this afternoon," Curtis said. "Today was our most unproductive perfomance in terms of creating meaningful opportunities. Other than corner kicks, we really did not test their keeper."

With the loss, Cleveland State (4-5-2) drops to 0-2-1 in the Horizon League, while UW-Green Bay (5-5-1) imporves its Horizon League record to 2-1.

"We played well defensively again today," Curtis said. "But we need to balance it with converting chances on the offensive end."

Cleveland State continues its six-game homestand by hosting Akron on Monday, Oct. 11th at Mentor High School. The match will begin at 7:00 p.m.

"We are a youthful team, with the tendency to play to the level of our opponent," Curtis said. "With that in mind, our game will, hopefully, increase accordingly. We hope to turn in a much more complete performance against Akron than we did today."
