Final Stats

FAIRBORN, Ohio - Cleveland State scored on both of its first half shots and rode the strong goalkeeping of sophomore Amir Kettani (Kirtland, Ohio/Lake Catholic) en route to a 3-1 victory at Wright State (4-7-1, 1-1-0) Sunday afternoon. With the win, the Vikings improve to 6-5-0 overall and 3-0-0 in the Horizon League.

Sophomore Stephen Ademolu (Windsor, Ontario/Herman) gave the Vikings a 1-0 lead in the 14th minute on an assist from senior O.C. Haugen (Hornindal, Norway/Stryn). Four of Ademolu's five goals this season have come in the first 15 minutes, with CSU going 3-1 in those contests. Haugen then extended the margin to 2-0 in the 33rd minute on an assist from senior Joachim Walker (Bay Village, Ohio/Bay).

Walker put the game out of reach 11 minutes into the second stanza with his third goal of the season on an assist from Haugen. Wright State's Ricky Strong scored the Raiders' only goal in the 80th minute.

Kettani made seven saves to earn his second consecutive victory. Jason Balach stopped three shots for WSU.

With at least eight matches remaining, the Vikings have already recorded more victories than in any season since 1997 (8-11-2). In addition, CSU, which has never won more than three Horizon League contests in its nine years in the league, is off to its first-ever 3-0-0 start.

Cleveland State looks to pick up its third win in a row when the Vikings host Loyola Chicago on Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 7:00 p.m.
