CLEVELAND - The Cleveland State men's soccer team allowed just one goal on Saturday to Wright State, but that one goal was enough as the Vikings fell, 1-0, at Krenzler Field.

The Vikings allowed the fewest goals of their last five matches dating back to a 1-0 loss to Cincinnati on Sept. 17, but failed to find the back of the net, despite controlling play for much of the match.

One of those chances happened late in the first half, when David Prentice mis-hit a cross that hung in the wind and floated toward the goal. WSU goalkeeper Jason Leuthold, who replaced starter Jason Balach just three minutes into the match, got a fingertip on the ball, enough to knock it into the post, where it bounced around the goalmouth before finally being cleared away.

Wright State's Paul-Anthony Perez notched the only goal of the match by taking a feed from Juan Vasquez and beating the Viking defense and putting a shot past Josh Cain.

The Vikings will have a few days to regroup, next facing Marshall on Thurs., Oct. 9, at 7 p.m. at Krenzler Field.
