Final Stats

Lexington, Ky. - Cleveland State scored first, but Kentucky responded with three unanswered goals to prevail 3-1 in the Traditional Bank Invitational Friday night in Lexington, Ky. The loss drops the Vikings to 3-4-0, while the Wildcats improve to 4-2-0.

For the second straight match, CSU took a 1-0 lead in the first four minutes as sophomore Stephen Ademolu (Windsor, Ontario/Herman) notched his second goal of the season in the third minute.

Unfortunately, much like last Saturday's loss to IPFW, the Vikings were unable to maintain the early advantage. Kentucky's Nathan Fleetwood evened the score in the 21st minute on an assist from John Monebrake. The Wildcats then took the lead on Dani Kamras' tally at the 50:21 mark. UK added an insurance goal in the 85th minute when Jani Modig took a pass from Jamal Shteiwi and slotted past CSU keeper Josip Novkovic (Euclid, Ohio/Lake Catholic).

Kentucky held a 13-2 advantage in shots. Wildcat goalie Greg Raber was not forced to make a save on the evening, while Novkovic stopped four shots.

The Vikings continue play in the tournament at noon on Sunday, Sept. 22 against Marshall.
