ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Michigan (3-0) scored an early first half goal and held on in the second stanza to defeat Cleveland State (1-2), 1-0, yesterday in Ann Arbor. All three of the Vikings' games this season have been decided by one goal.

Jody Keeling punched in a one-timer from Robert Turpin and J.J. Kern at the 2:34 mark of the first half for the game's only goal. CSU dominated play in the second frame, ripping off 10 shots. However, Joe Zawacki was up to the task, turning back all of the Vikings' shots for his second consecutive shut out.

CSU senior goalie James Kryger (St. Catharines, Ontario) was solid once again, surrendering one goal on four shots to lower his season GAA to 1.33.

The Vikings are in action again on Sunday, Sept. 9 when they travel to Michigan State for a 1:00 p.m. contest.
