Cleveland, Ohio - Despite four close calls, the Vikings couldn't convert any of their shots into goals in the last exhibition match of the season against Bowling Green. The Falcons were also unable to connect with the net tonight with six shots being on goal. The match ended in a 0-0 tie, with no overtime being played.

All of the chances for the Vikings came during the second half, the first chance being in the 53rd minute when senior Josh Williams had an opportunity to score off a pass from midfield. His shot was just far enough right that it hit the post instead of sailing into the net.

Nine minutes later senior Slavisa Ubiparipovic was awarded a free kick. Ubiparipovic was also unable to score, with his shot going high and hitting the crossbar.

In the 73rd minute CSU received another free kick, this time taken by freshman Admir Suljevic. Suljevic just missed the net, skimming the post on the left side.

The last chance came on a header from freshman Aaron Adkins. Adkins' header just didn't have enough force behind it to beat the goalie in the net, leaving the Vikings scoreless.

"We are starting to get an idea of what the lineup will be for Tuesday thanks to exhibition play," said CSU head coach Ali Kazemaini. "The first half we couldn't get anything going, and Bowling Green was the same. Things picked up during the second half and we got chances to score, but we just couldn't put them away."

The Vikings will begin regular season play with their home opener against St. Bonaventure on Tuesday (Sept. 1). Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. at Krenzler Field.
