Cleveland State Men's Soccer Receives Two Horizon League All-Academic Awards

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Cleveland State men's soccer players, Pablo Kawecki and Albert Portas were named to the 2023 Horizon League All-Academic Team, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.

Kawecki, received All-Academic Team recognition for the second straight season.  The senior carries a 3.75 GPA and is pursuing a double major in international business and general business along with a marketing minor. The Alcobendas, Spain, native has been named to the Dean's List six times and once to the President's List.

On the field, Kawecki serves as a captain and has started all 14 games that he has appeared in this season. He currently leads the team in goals with eight and points with 19. For his career, he has twice been named All-League and has scored 25 goals to go along with 15 assists for 65 points.

Portas, garnered All-Academic honors for a second consecutive season. The senior holds a perfect 4.00 GPA and is pursuing a major in human resources management and a minor in marketing. The Barcelona, Spain, native has been recognized on the President's List four times.

On the field, Portas has started all 14 games that he has appeared in this season. For his career, he has played in 47 contests with 42 starts, scoring 13 goals and adding 10 assists for 36 points.
