Naeemy Earns Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week Honors

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Cleveland State senior goalkeeper Omeed Naeemy was named the Nike® #HLMSOC Defensive Player of the Week, the Horizon League announced Monday afternoon. Naeemy earns this honor for the first time this season and the fourth of his career.

Naeemy made three saves including one on a penalty kick in the Vikings 1-0 shutout of Oakland at home on Saturday evening. The senior now has four shutouts on the year and is unbeaten with a 5-0-2 record. In total, he has made 22 saves while allowing just six goals. 

Naeemy and the Vikings will play a pair of games this week, hosting Robert Morris on Wednesday and then traveling to Northern Kentucky on Saturday.
