Manesio Named to OCSA All-Ohio Team

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland State junior defender Sergio Manesio was selected to the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association 2015 All-Ohio second team for his performance on the field during the season.

Manesio adds to his list of postseason awards as he was tabbed the 2015 Horizon League Defensive Player of the Year, a first team All-Horizon League selection and a member of the Horizon League All-Tournament team.

He was named to the OCSA squad after leading the Vikings to a 9-8-2 record and a berth in the Horizon League semifinals.

In the first three games of the season, the Vikings fell to 0-3 and gave up seven goals while the lineup was still finding its groove. In the fourth game of the year, head coach Ali Kazemaini made the decision to put Manesio in the back, a move that would pay dividends with the Vikings going 9-5-2 and giving up just 12 goals with CSU posting six shutouts in its last eight games.

Manesio was named to the Horizon League All-Freshman team during his first season and was a second team all-league pick as a sophomore.
