• Cleveland State will close the 2015 regular season this Friday night (Nov. 6) at UIC beginning at 8:00 p.m. EST. The Vikings will play to secure a spot in the Horizon League tournament while UIC has clinched the regular season crown.
• CSU won its lone match of the week last week 1-0 at Green Bay on a Hesham Hammouda goal just 2:45 seconds into the first overtime period.
• With another shutout, the Vikings have now given up just one goal (four shutouts) over their last five games. That is the Vikings best five-game defensive stretch since Sept. 29 - Oct. 12, 1986 when the team  won five in a row.
• The Vikings enter the final week of the season in sixth place in the Horizon League standings. While the top-six teams advance to the tournament, a multitude of scenarios could see the Vikings finish anywhere from fourth to seventh. The final round of regular season games is as follows: Cleveland State at UIC, Northern Kentucky at Milwaukee, Oakland at Wright State, Green Bay at Valpo, Belmont at Detroit. All games are slated for Friday night (Nov. 6).
• Hammouda's goal was his second on the year. Both have come in 1-0 CSU wins. His first career goal last season also occured in a Viking win. The score also moved the Vikings to one of only two teams (Wright State) to now have at least six players with multiple goals this season.
• Heading into the regular season finale, Jake Lagania and Alec Nagucki will both likely make their 36th consecutive appearance since joining the team as freshman a season ago. Either have yet to miss a game in their career.
• Lagania is one of just three players in the Horizon League to have at least four assists to go along with at least five goals (14 total points).
• Goalkeeper Aleksandar Drobac and the consistent back line of Sergio Manesio, Mustafa Raychouni, James Milli, Kareem Banton and Nick Kane can be credited with the majority of ownership of CSU's recent defensive dominance.
• The Vikings own a 21-15-14 all-time advantage over UIC, winning four of the last five.
• Cleveland State will look to control its own destiny and head into the Horizon League tournament beginning Monday (Nov. 9) at a first-round site to be determined.
