• After battling to a 1-1 draw with Detroit in their lone match last week, the Vikings will play a pair of Horizon League games this week, hosting Northern Kentucky on Wednesday (Oct. 7) and at Oakland on Saturday (Oct. 10).
Jake Lagania scored his team-leading third goal of the season in CSU's draw with Detroit. Lagania is one of 12 Horizon League players with at least three goals and since making the switch from defense to offense, he has recorded at least one shot in every game and has at least two shots in five contests.
• Lagania and Alec Nagucki continue their games-played streak dating back through their 2014 freshman campaign, now appearing in 28-straight games for the Vikings.
• CSU has five other players that have appeared in every game thus far in 2015; Victor Zamora, Gianluca DiFranco, Kevin Blackwood, Kareem Banton and Dan Koniarczyk
• DiFranco still ranks near the top of the Horizon League freshman charts in total shots, recording at least one in all but one match this season.
• After earning his first-career win in goal vs. Cincinnati, Aleksandar Drobac started for the third consecutive game vs. Detroit, moving his record to 1-1-1.
• Despite making the move to defense, Sergio Manesio has still managed to tally a shot in all but one of the last five games. Manesio, along with Banton, Mustafa Raychouni, Nick Kane and James Milli have helped the Viking defense hold Horizon League opponents to just three goals in three league games thus far.
• In a series that has now totalled 28 games, Saturday's 1-1 tie with Detroit was just the second tie in the series and first since 1996.
• In what will be the first-ever meeting between Cleveland State and Northern Kentucky, the Vikings will look to hand the Norse their first leage loss of the season. Oakland and CSU have met 11 times prior to Saturday with the Golden Grizzlies holding a slight edge at 6-5.
• The Vikings will play two games next week. First, they will travel to Pittsburgh for a non-conference bout on Tuesday (Oct. 13) followed by a Horizon League match with Belmont at Krenzler Field on Saturday (Oct. 17).
