Aslinn Rodas Called Into Guatemalan National Team Camp

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Former Cleveland State standout Aslinn Rodas was recently called into the Guatemalan National Team Camp.

Rodas, a 2013 graduate of CSU with a degree in international business, has trained with the Columbus Crew and Sporting Kansas City of the MLS.

The 22-year olds parents are originally from San Carlos Sija, Quetzaltenango, and Rodas is attempting to become the first player born in the United States to Guatemalan parents, playing with Major Soccer Team Guatemala.

Rodas enjoyed a stellar four-year career at CSU from 2010-13, totaling 27 points on seven goals and 13 assists.

As a freshman, he was named to the Horizon League All-Newcomer team after totaling three goals and two assists. He scored CSU's first goal in a 2-1 win over then No. 1 ranked Akron in late October.

The following season, Rodas was a second team all-league selection and he went on to earn first team All-Horizon League honors as a junior and senior.

As a junior in 2012, Rodas posted two goals and three assists, while leading the Vikings to the Horizon League Championship and CSU's first appearance in the NCAA tournament in 32 years.
