Manesio, Nagucki & Blackwood Earn All-League Honors

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State men's soccer team had three players earn All-Horizon League honors that were announced on Monday morning.

Sophomore Sergio Manesio was voted to the all-league first team, while Alec Nagucki and Kevin Blackwood were both selected to the all-newcomer team.

Manesio began the year on the backline, but was moved up front during the season. His move up front helped spark the Viking offense as Manesio finished the regular season leading the team in goals (4) and points (9). A starter in all 17 matches, Manesio tallied one assist this year.

Nagucki has enjoyed a strong first season for CSU, tying for second on the team with seven points. A starter in 16 of the 17 matches this year, Nagucki ranks second on the team with three goals and has one assist.

Blackwood has been a key member of CSU's backline this fall and has dished out three assists during his first season.

The Vikings finished the regular season with a 6-11 overall record and went 4-4 in the Horizon League to earn the No. 4 seed in the league tournament. The Vikings will open the league championship with a first round match on Monday (Nov. 10) night at 7:00 pm against fifth-seeded Valparaiso at Krenzler Field.
