Men's Soccer Hosts Green Bay for Season Finale

• The Cleveland State men's soccer team concludes the 2014 regular season with one match this week, hosting Green Bay at 7:00 p.m. on Friday (Nov. 7).

• The Vikings are 6-10 this year and 4-3 in Horizon League play.

• Green Bay's record this year is 5-9-3 and 1-5-1 in league play.

• CSU played two games last week, dropping a 5-0 contest at Akron on 

Tuesday (Oct. 28) and beating UIC, 3-1 on Saturday, to move up in the Horizon League standings.

Aleksandar Drobac started in net with one saves and was replaced by Nick Ciraldo in the 28th minute who made two saves against the Zips. 

The Vikings took a 1-0 lead in the first half against UIC with a goal from Mike Matlock on a header in the 29th minute with an assist from Kevin Blackwood

The Flames would answer in the first half, but the Vikings pulled away in the second half with goals from Sergio Manesio and Mike Derezic

Alec Nagucki, Thomas Beck, and Sergio Manesio tallied assists.

Sergio Manesio and Alec Nagucki lead the team with seven points with Mike Derezic next with six points. Alvaro Pichardo and Mike Matlock are both just  behind with five points.

Nick Ciraldo has played in 15 games and made 55 saves throughout this season. 

• The Vikings will play just six home matches this year with 11 contests on the road. CSU played eight straight matches away from home from Aug. 31 through Oct. 4.

• CSU will play four games this year against teams that advanced to the NCAA Championship last season (Akron, California, Milwaukee, Wake Forest).

• CSU will open play in the Horizon League Championship with a first round match on Monday (Nov. 10). The opponent and game time will be announced this weekend.
