Vikings Fall at Detroit, 3-0

DETROIT, Mich. - The Cleveland State men's soccer team dropped a 3-0 match at Detroit on Saturday afternoon.

The Vikings fell to 5-9 overall and 3-3 in the Horizon League, while the Titans improved to 8-4-3 overall and 5-1 in the league.

Detroit took a 1-0 lead in the 23rd minute on Spiro Pliakos' first goal of the season off a set piece free kick. It stayed that way through halftime and the Titans extended the lead to 2-0 with a penalty kick by Adam Clauss at the 73:05 mark.

The Titans added a goal with four minutes left for the final margin.

Detroit outshot the Vikings, 16-7, and held an 8-4 advantage in corner kicks.

CSU is back in action on Tuesday (Oct. 28) when the Vikings travel to Akron for a 7:00 p.m. nonconference match.
