Men’s Soccer Falls To Valparaiso, 1-0

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State men's soccer team dropped a tough contest against Valparaiso Saturday evening, falling to the Crusaders, 1-0. The Vikings now stand at 5-8 overall and 3-2 in Horizon League play.

Valparaiso's game-winner came in the 59th minute, when Jordan Aidoud beat Nick Ciraldo to the far right corner of the net after blasting a shot from the far left side of the field.

Cleveland State's best chance at scoring came early on in the first half, when Jake Lagania had a free kick from the top left corner of the box hit off the crossbar.

The two teams were evenly matched throughout the contest, with the Crusaders owning a 9-6 advantage in shots and a slim 5-4 advantage in shots on goal.

Ciraldo played all 90 minutes in goal for the Vikings, recording four saves.

Next up for the Vikings is a 2:00 p.m. contest at Detroit on Saturday, October 25.
