Vikings Fall To Bowling Green, 1-0, in Overtime

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Playing at home for just the second time this year, the Cleveland State men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 match in overtime to Bowling Green on Tuesday night at Krenzler Field.

CSU, which was at home for the first time since the season opener on Aug. 29, fell to 4-6 and had its two match win streak snapped. The Falcons improved to 9-2 with the win.

After a scoreless 90 minutes of regulation, BGSU was able to net the game-winning goal with just under 50 seconds left in the first overtime when Jacob Roth scored his first goal of the season on a free kick from the left side.

The Falcons finished with a 9-4 advantage in shots, while CSU held an 8-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Nick Ciraldo made three saves for the Vikings.

CSU returns to Horizon League action on Saturday (Oct. 11) when the Vikings host Oakland at 7:00 p.m. at Krenzler Field.
