The Vikings Return Home After an Eight Game Road Trip

•The Cleveland State men's soccer team continues the 2014 regular season with two home matches this week.

• The Vikings start the week on Tuesday (Oct. 7) with a 7:00 p.m. match at Krenzler Field against Bowling Green and resume league play on Saturday (Oct. 11) vs. Oakland at home at 7:00 p.m.

• Bowling Green's record this year is 8-2 and Oaklands record is 2-5-1 and 2-0-1 in the Horizon League.

• The matches will end a stretch of eight straight games away from home for the Vikings.

• The Vikings are 4-5 this year and 2-0 in Horizon League play.

• CSU played one game last week and beat Belmont at Rose Park in Nashville, Tennessee.

• Cleveland State scored in the second half at the 68:41 mark to beat Belmont 1-0.

• Senior Mike Derezic scored his first goal of the season against Belmont to win their second Horizon League game.

 • Freshman Jake Lagania recorded his second assist of the season Saturday afternoon. 

Nick Ciraldo played all 90-minutes in goal and made three saves against Belmont while recording a shutout. 

Alvaro Pichardo leads the team with five points with Sergio Manesio, Dan Koniarczyk, and Hesham Hammouda all just  behind with four points.

• Nick Ciraldo has played in eight games with 35 saves and a total of 726:20 in net. 

• The Vikings will play just six home matches this year with 11 contests on the road. CSU played eight straight matches away from home from Aug. 31 through Oct. 4.

• CSU will play four games this year against teams that advanced to the NCAA Championship last season (Akron, California, Milwaukee, Wake Forest).

• CSU will return home against Bowling Green on Tuesday (Oct. 7) at Krenzler Field at 7:00 p.m. The Vikings also host Oakland at 7:00 p.m. at Krenzler Field on Tuesday (Oct. 11) at 7 p.m.
