Vikings Drop 2-0 Match at Sacramento State

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Cleveland State men's soccer team concluded its swing through California with a 2-0 setback at Sacramento State on Sunday afternoon.

CSU fell to 2-4, while Sacramento State improved to 2-2-1.

Sacramento State jumped on the board at the 13:28 mark of the first half on a goal by Chimdum Mez off an assist from Cylus Sandoval. Just over seven minutes later, Sacramento State added onto their lead with a free kick from Andres Garcia and headed in by Cody Hoster.

The Hornets outshot CSU 16-8 as Nick Ciraldo made two saves for the Vikings.

Thomas Beck had two shots for the Vikings, while six other players had one shot each.

The Vikings have the week off and will travel to Cincinnati next Wednesday (Sept. 24).
