Vikings Fall at N.C. State

RALEIGH, N.C. – The Cleveland State men's soccer team suffered its first setback of the season with a 4-0 loss at N.C. State on Friday evening at Dali Soccer Field.

The Vikings fell to 2-1 this year, while N.C. State improved to 1-1-1.

N.C. State took an early lead just 9:41 into the game on a goal by Zach Knudson, assisted by Ade Taiwo and Caleb Duvernay. Later in the first half, Nick Surkamp scored the Wolfpack's second goal as they went on to 2-0 halftime lead.

The Wolfpack added two more goals late in the second half.

N.C. State held an 18-6 advantage in shots, as Nick Ciraldo made two saves for CSU.

The Vikings are back in action on Sunday (Sept. 7) when CSU plays at Wake Forest at 7:00 p.m.
