Vikings Defeat Bowling Green 1-0 in Double Overtime

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio-  The Cleveland State men's soccer team picked up their fifth win of the season, defeating Bowling Green,1-0, in an exciting double overtime match on Wednesday night.

It took 102 minutes, but the Vikings (5-9-0) prevailed to earn a 1-0 victory at Bowling Green.  Freshman midfielder Sergio Manesio was the hero of the evening netting his team leading fourth goal of the year.  His game winner came from the right side of the net where at first the shot was blocked from Bowling Green goalkeeper Michael Wiest, but then trickled past Wiest to give CSU the victory.  Senior forward Admir Suljevic was credited on the assist.

Manesio has continued to be on an offensive tear, where he has scored three goals in two games for the Vikings.  Last Saturday (Oct. 12) against Green Bay, Manesio netted a pair of goals to give CSU's first shutout of the season, 3-0.

The Cleveland State men's soccer team will be back home at Krenzler Field against conference foe Detroit on Wednesday (Oct. 23) at 7:30 p.m.
