Vikings Fall to Cincinnati 1-0

CLEVELAND, Ohio-  The Cleveland State men's soccer team fell to Cincinnati 1-0 on Wednesday night at Krenzler Field.

Despite out shooting Cincinnati 14-3 in the contest the Vikings (3-7-0) had chances at the net, but could not buy a goal.  The Vikings played tough defense all evening.  The only score allowed by CSU was a header goal off of a corner kick by John Manga early in the second half coming at the 48:47 minute-mark, providing the Bearats with the difference in the match. Bearcats sophomore midfielder/forward was credited on the assist.

A key contributor for Cleveland State despite the loss was Sergio Manesio who had nine total shots-- six shots attempted at the net, and had three shots on goal.

The Vikings will look to rebound as the team will travel to UIC for their second conference match of the year on Saturday (Oct. 5) at 8:00 p.m. EST.
