CLEVELAND, OH- The Cleveland State Vikings (7-5-2, 2-1-1) earned a huge home league win Saturday night, taking down the Milwaukee Panthers 2-1 in overtime.

Both teams came into the game tied with one league win, fighting to for both placement and seeding in the end of the season Horizon League tournament.

The game was a battle all night long in the cold at Krenzler Field, with no goals scored in the first 88 minutes of action.

That all changed for the home team at the 88:24 mark when Cazz Warren found Christian Arboleda in a crowd in the box, and Arboleda found the back of the net to give CSU a 1-0 lead.

Despite the late goal the game was far from over, with Milwaukee bouncing back and scoring a goal with just 13 seconds left in regulation.

The Panthers brought the ball down the middle of the field, causing CSU goalie Brad Stuver to come out and make a play at it. Unfortunately or the Vikings the ball was able to get behind Stuver and tie the game.

For Vikings' Head Coach Ali Kazemaini, the message to the team following the late goal was simple, that the game would be a team effort, and a team win, no one play would win or lose it.

"We stressed team chemistry," Kazemaini said about heading into overtime. "Not worrying about who makes the mistakes or who scores the goals." 

Luckily for the home crowd the Vikings wouldn't be done scoring those goals as senior Admir Suljevic was able to put away a free kick in the 93rd minute to give the Vikings the win.

"It was a huge win for us, Kazemaini said. "I was really happy with the way the players responded tonight, they really worked for each other, we had to weather the storm at times but we kept creating chances."

The Vikings were able to create chances all night long, out-shooting the Panthers 15-7, and 7-2 in shots on goal.

CSU will look to keep the winning ways going as they head on the road to take on Loyola this Wednesday at 8:00 p.m.
