MADISON, WI- The Cleveland State Vikings were unable to overcome a 2-0 halftime deficit and eventually fell on the road Saturday night 2-1 to the Wisconsin Badgers.

The two teams played a scoreless game for the first 28 minutes of play before the Badgers got on the board on a Jerry Maddi goal off an assist from Blake Succa.

Unfortunately for the Vikings, the Badgers were not done in the first half as they scored again just before the halftime break in the 42nd minute of play. This time Conner Drew hit a far post finish off assists from Blake Succa and Chris Prince to make it a 2-0 game.

Despite falling behind 2-0 the Vikings continued to fight until the final whistle. CSU battled the whole second half, including seven shots, with one finding the net late.

Senior forward Aaron Adkins found the back of the net for his third goal of the year in the 86th minute off a deflected shot to give CSU a fighting chance.

Despite the late rally the Vikings were unable to overcome the 2-0 hole.

CSU will be back home at Krenzler Field Wednesday as they take on Belmont at 2:00 p.m.
