CLEVELAND, Ohio- The Cleveland State men's soccer (4-4-1) team battled hard Tuesday night to a 0-0 tie on the road against the Cincinnati Bearcats.

While the Vikings were coming into the game off a tough 3-1 loss to Detroit over the weekend, the Bearcats had some solid momentum, looking for their fourth straight win.

Despite the lack of goals, the two teams were able to get off a high amount of shots, and a few good looks at the back of the net. In total Cincinnati ended the night with 27 shots (six on goal) compared to CSU's 17 shots (two on goal).

The first 20 minutes of action seemed to be leaning towards the home team with the Bearcats getting off five shots to CSU's just one. Despite the early lack of shots, Cleveland State Head Coach Ali Kazemaini was happy with the team's effort throughout the rest of the contest.

"I was pretty happy with the effort tonight," Kazemaini said. "I thought our guys responded well after the disappointment of last game, we hope to keep the standard at this level."

While Kazemaini did add that there were a few calls that he thought could have gone their way, possibly leading to CSU penalty kicks, the team still was able to stay focused and play well.

"The way we played tonight should be the standard for our guys intensity wise," Kazemaini added. "It's not necessarily whether we win or lose, it's how we win or lose."

Outside of the possible penalty kicks on no-calls, the Vikings were able to get a few looks on goal late with chances on the offensive end.

Not only did CSU have a saved shot by Christian Arboleda in the last two minutes of regulation, they also had a Daniel Radjen header off the crossbar and two shots blocked in the overtime session.

CSU will look to get back on the winning side of things Saturday as they take on Wisconsin on the road at 8:00 p.m.
