CLEVELAND, Ohio- The Cleveland State Vikings got a hard-fought 2-1 overtime win Tuesday night at home, taking down league opponent Wright State to improve to 6-5-1 (1-1-0)

The Vikings, despite being down much of the contest, were able to use a late penalty kick from Admir Suljevic to help push the game into the overtime session and eventually to the win.

For Vikings' Head Coach Ali Kazemaini this was a big game and victory for the team, finally getting that first conference win.

"It was a big game, it kind of sets the tone for us for the rest of the year," Kazemaini said following the win. "We needed a win at home and it was the first time we've been able to come back from behind which was another key for us."

Despite outshooting the Raiders 6-4 in the first half, a goal in the 22nd minute from Wright State's Brett Elder put the road team on top.

That goal was all the Raiders would get though as they were outshot 12-0 in the second half and overtime, with CSU controlling the game.

Coach Kazemaini was very happy with the team's effort all the way around, from Brad Stuver in goal, to a sick Admir Suljeviccoming in and hitting the game-tying penalty kick, and even the entire bench that was able to come in and play well. 

That bench tonight included Alfonso Sandoval, who was able to come in and play hard all night. Eventually that hard work paid off as he got the ball in the middle of the crowd in the box, and put it in the back of the net for the game-winning overtime goal.

"It's great for our confidence," Kazemaini added, on not only the whole team playing well but also them being able to fight back from a deficit.

The Vikings will be looking to keep their winning ways going as the team travels to Valparaiso for a Saturday night league contest.
