Cleveland, Ohio- Despite a pre-game tailgate and strong crowd Friday night for the home opener, Cleveland State was not able to overcome a first half Bowling Green goal as the Falcons took down the Vikings 1-0 Friday night at Krenzler Field.

In a game that was close throughout, with both teams getting their fair share of chances, the Falcons got one to count.

Putting pressure on the CSU defense in the 15th minute Bowling Green's Anthony Grant was able to get the rebound off a saved shot by Zach Lemke and put it in the back of the net for the game winner.

For the Vikings' Head Coach Ali Kazemaini this is a tough one to swallow.

"We've been playing well and to lose this one that's the home opener it's disappointing," Kazemaini said. "We had chances to finish and just weren't sharp enough to finish."

The Vikings did get a few solid chances at the goal, especially in the second half, but were unable to put any away. The Vikings out-shot the Falcons 9-5 in the second half and had a 6-0 corner kick advantage.

"Games like today I kind of like to just forget about," he added. "We have to figure out a way to get out of this lull a little bit and get it back started up again in training."

That next chance for the Vikings to get things going again will be on the road this Tuesday as they take on Duquesne at 7:30 p.m.
