CLEVELAND, Ohio - James Boxley, who finished 17th at the state tournament for Miamisburg H.S., has signed a National Letter of Intent to play golf at Cleveland State. Head coach Steve Weir made the announcement on Wednesday afternoon.

Boxley will join the squad for the 2008-09 season.

"We are excited for James to join the Viking program and play golf for us," Weir said. ""We feel that he has the ability and experience to have an immediate impact on our lineup from day one."

A native of Miamisburg, Ohio, Boxley shot a 74 (37-37) to tie for second place at the 2007 Southwest District Golf Tournament at Weatherwax Golf Course in October. Boxley has also won several junior events in his local area.

The Vikings will return to action in early March when their spring schedule begins.
