CLEVELAND, Ohio - Michael Klaric, a four-year letterwinner in golf at Kennedy Catholic High School in Hermitage, Pa., has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Cleveland State men's golf program beginning with the 2009-10 academic year.

"We are excited to have Michael join our program," head coach Steve Weir said. "He has been the number one player for his high school team all four years and has had a lot of success. He will fit nicely into our lineup and will fight for one of our five spots immediately."

Playing for head coach John Kerins, Klaric helped lead Kennedy Catholic to four league titles (2005-08) and a combined 61-3 record during his four-year career.

A four-time region all-star, Klaric won the district title as a junior and was named player of the year when he averaged 37.3 shots per round. He lowered that to 36.15 as a senior.

Klaric holds the Mercer County record for lowest round with a six-under-par 30. He also won the Tam 'O Shant Invitational during his final three seasons and the Brookfield H.S. Invitational in 2006 and 2007.
