Jim Weikamp Awarded Inaugural Burke-Rosen Scholarship

CLEVELAND - Cleveland State junior men's golfer Jim Weikamp (North Royalton, Ohio/North Royalton) has been awarded the first Burke-Rosen Scholarship. The scholarship, named in honor of CSU faculty emeriti John F. Burke Jr. and Harvey S. Rosen, is awarded to a rising senior majoring in economics with an overall grade point average of 3.25 or above, and a minimum grade point average of 3.3 in economics coursework.

"This is a big honor for Jim," CSU head coach Tom Porten said. "He has always been exceptional academically and will continue to succeed in his future endeavors."

In his second season on the golf team, Weikamp carries and 82.1 scoring average. He is a member of Omicron Delta Epsilon, the International Economics Honor Society, and is a two-time recipient of the CSU Athletic Academic Excellence Award.
