CLEVELAND, Ohio - Alexander Michalowski, a four-year letterwinner in golf at Kitsilano Secondary School, has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Cleveland State men's golf program beginning with the 2009-10 academic year.

Head coach Steve Weir made the announcement on Tuesday (April 21) afternoon.

"We are excited to have Alexander join our program," Weir said. "He has been the No. 1 player on his high school team for the last four seasons and has had a lot of success. He has the opportunity to come in right away and earn a spot in our lineup."

A native of Vancouver, Michalowski lettered four times (2006-09) at Kitsilano as the No. 1 player for all four seasons under coach Randy Coutts.

He led the squad to a league championship this season and a 17th place finish in the province after a runner-up finish in the league in 2008 and a 20th place showing in the province.

A lefty, Michalowski was also a member of the BC U16 Provincial Team.

In addition, Michalowski earned four letters in basketball, helping the team to four straight league championships.
