INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Cleveland State senior Kent Monas has been named Horizon League Men's Golfer of the Week for the period of April 6-12.

The league office made the announcement on Wednesday afternoon.

Monas tied for second place out of 78 individuals at the Adidas Indiana Invitational on IU's Championship course in Bloomington, Ind. on April 9-10. The Vikings finished runner-up in the two-day event.

Monas, a native of Perry, Ohio shot a 66 in the opening round and followed with rounds of 71-73 to finish at 210, just one shot behind the medalist.

His first round 66 was a career-low.

The second place finish marked Monas' first top-five finish of the year, and the Vikings second place finish was the team's best since winning the 2008 Horizon League Championship.

The Vikings will finish out the regular season at the Earl Yestingmeier Invitational on April 16-17 at Delaware Country Club in Muncie, Ind.
