CLEVELAND - Ben Grandy became the second Viking to earn the Horizon League's Golfer of the Week honor in the past three weeks, the league office announced on Wednesday. The Cleveland State senior, who garnered the award for the third time in his career, follows on the heels of sophomore Jake Scott who was recognized on March 21.
Grandy recorded his fourth consecutive top-15 finish, posting a four-over par 146 to finish in a tie for 14th at the Marshall Invitational on April 6-7 in Huntington, W. Va. The Southgate, Mich. native's second round total of one-under par 70 at the Guyan Golf & Country Club matched his lowest score of the year.
The men's golf team returns to action on April 23-24 when the Vikings travel to the Dayton Invitational.
